The Downtown Arts Center (DAC) is a vibrant arts center encompassing the Black Box Theatre, the DAC Box Office, the City Gallery and rehearsal space.
The DAC is both a performing arts venue for rent and a presenting entity. This hybrid approach helps to ensure the vitality and diversity of the productions offered, including those from both long-established and newly created groups working in dance, theater, spoken word, film and other art forms.
The Black Box Theatre is a 250-seat contemporary black box with flexible seating. It is equipped with lighting and sound capabilities, two dressing rooms, a green room, a backstage area and a loading dock. The rehearsal hall provides a more informal space for auditions, rehearsals and theatrical workshops, as well as the presentation of experimental works.
