Lexington Philharmonic's Kicked Back Classics

with Daniel Kellogg

February 16, 2012, 7 pm

Each Kicked Back Classics program gives patrons the opportunity to hear first-hand from LexPhil Music Director Scott Terrell as well as LexPhil musicians, guest artists and composers in a much more intimate setting than LexPhil’s traditional Classic Concerts.

On Thursday, Feb. 16, Music Director Scott Terrell will be joined by Daniel Kellogg (LexPhil’s first Saykaly Garbulinska Composer-In-Residence),  to discuss his original compositions, Mozart’s Hymn and How Radiant the Dawn.  During the concert, LexPhil musicians will play excerpts from both pieces.  For a preview of Daniel Kellogg's work visit his website danielkellogg.com/web/home.aspx .

After the performance, patrons will have the opportunity to participate in a question and answer forum.

The interaction will continue as all patrons are invited to attend the After-Party at TRUST Lounge with guest artists, located at 123 Main Street, just blocks away from the DAC.  The concert will last about one hour.

Little Book

March 14-17 , 2012

It's the late 1930's.  E.B. White is doing everything but finishing the first draft of Stuart Little.  His wife, Katherine, is trying to adjust to life in the backwoods of Maine, far from her highpowered job as the first female editor at the New Yorker.  And Anne Carroll Moore, from behind the walls of her children's library empire at the New York Public Library, is not at all sure she approves of what's going on outside.

Little Book is a comedy about the written word.  That is:  it's about procrastination, disappointment, hypochondria, unrequited love and blind hope.  It's about why the semicolon is way sexier than the dash.  And why children's literature matters.

Student Rush tickets will be available 1/2 hour prior to each performance for only $8.
