2008 Campaign for the Arts Kick Off

LexArts kicked off the 2008 Campaign for the Arts at Spindletop Hall on February 15, 2008.  More than 100 guests enjoyed great food, entertainment and heard about this year’s $1.125 million goal. Campaign Cabinet Chair Julie Young shared the news that early solicitation efforts had already generated more than $500,000 and people enjoyed performances by a string quartet from the Central Kentucky Youth Orchestras, cellist Lisa Svejkovsky and actors from the Lexington Children’s Theater in costume. Mayor Jim Newberry attended and spoke about the importance of the arts to the community, prior to returning to the Mayor’s office for the remaining Downtown Gallery Hop hours.

Spindletop Hall once again sponsored the Kick Off by donating the food and venue.
